About HowAffordable

How the calculators work, who publishes them, and important disclaimers.

HowAffordable is published by 716 Ventures LLC. The home and auto calculators go beyond a simple monthly payment estimate. By factoring in your existing monthly bills, they show how much money you'll actually have left over each month — helping you see not just how big a payment is, but how realistic it is for your budget.

After answering a few quick questions, the dashboard generates an industry-standard loan estimate based on your income and debts. From there, you can toggle debts on and off, and adjust loan terms, down payment, and loan size — all in one place.

Answers exist only in your browser for this session. Nothing is saved to an account. Curious if paying off a credit card could put a home or car within reach? HowAffordable.com helps you model that.

For the formulas, scoring bands, and public sources those estimates are compared with, read the methodology. For worked examples, see the guides.
